CEREC 3D Technology
CEREC is an acronym that stands for Chairside Economical
Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is CAD-CAM: Computer
Aided Design – Computer Aided Milling. We are able
to design a crown, onlay or veneer in one visit for our
guests. Instead of taking impressions, temporizing a tooth
and then sending it to a lab, to manufacture a restoration,
which may take a few weeks and an additional appointment,
we are able to produce the final product in one visit.
We take an optical impression (camera image) of the tooth
and Dr. Lomire designs the restoration. Then the information
is sent to the milling unit and from a ceramic block your
restoration is fabricated, which may take – 15 minutes,
then it is fitted and chemically bonded to your tooth.
This is the closest way to restoring the enamel of your
tooth. Another advantage is that you are able to eat and
drink immediately after your visit with us!
